Measurement
By Elaine

Clip to ScrapBook
Nikki,
Here's what my students love to do. I create an activity sheet for them with a list of items for them to measure in our classroom (or in the hallway outside our room) such as height of the lang. poster, width of the window sill, length of the hamster cage, etc. I try to make sure I have things all around the room to cut down on congestion and wasting time waiting. Then my students work in pairs to go around the room measuring away. It's active and noisy, but we all love it. I can circulate and help students who may be having trouble, and it's fairly easy to spot the students who need additional help as well as ones who could be future peer tutors.
