That is so true!! As a reading teacher, I ve noticed so many of my below grade level readers do not have appropraite vocabulary knowledge for their grade level. This is due to not reading sufficiently!! It has to be reinforced at school AND home. Just wanted to supply my two thoughts. Maybe you can supply a home reading program with an incentive/reward at the end of the week.
