It provides a uniform time for school activity pull outs like chorus and band and other school groups that might not get to meet or need to meet even just briefly. It is also a time to make sure students have what they need to do their homework, see if they have any questions, get extra help. A lot goes on actually, I just have a class that is not very adept at working independently, so I cant help those who need help sometimes which is frustrating and some want to use that time to get a start on their homework and cant because its disruptive... I suppose there are pros and cons for this BASE period. We may not have it next year...
