A Perfect Response!!!!!!
By Pam

Clip to ScrapBook
Fifth grade students are so much fun to teach. You just have to learn how to relate to each individual child. What works with one child may not work with another. Also, as you said, sometimes they need to be babied and
other times independent. I believe as professionals it is our responsibility to accept and appreciate our students' individual personalities.

If you show fifth grade students that you are genuinely interested in them and their successes, you will earn their respect. Once you've earned their respect, the immature behaviors (a normal part of being 10 or 11 years of age) will not be

a problem during class time.

I love fifth grade. I have been teaching fifth grade for nine years and I'm not the least bit tired of it yet. Also, the curriculum is great.
