Same Problem

I feel the same way! My partner teaches the the content areas and does not see the value in teaching reading compregension strategies while teaching content. She sees it just as something ELSE that she has to do. Well, duh, in order to understand the content it does help to be able to READ and interpret the content. There is so much reading and writing in these areas! My solution? I'm going self-contained next year.
