Christmas gift exchange
By SGS

Clip to ScrapBook
I did this last year for the first time and it was a ball. In my case, I bought enough dollar store gifts for each student to have one. I wrapped them and spread them out in the middle of the circle of children. All names
go into a hat. I pulled one and that student selects a gift (without shaking it first) and opens it. I pull the name of the next student. That one may EITHER take an unwrapped gift, OR may take the gift from any of their classmates (in this case there is only one choice). IF a student loses a gift because someone "took" theirs, at the next turn, before a name is drawn, they may unwrap
a new gift. We keep going in that fashion. Prior to the game I make it clear that this is a game! No one should have bad feelings at the end (most do not). I also stress that these are dollar store gifts, so the monetary value is the same. It really is a fun last day activitiy. (I might mention that this is not the only gift they receive. I usually give a gift from me as well, so usually everyone is satisfied!). If you want to do this and need further explanations, please email me. Happy Holidays!
