I Stongly Recommend Power Writing!
By Kim

Clip to ScrapBook
My K-8 school in Denver has used Power Writing for many years. We begin teaching it in kindergarten and continue the process through grade 8. It has proven to be effective, and I see amazing results from the kids who have stayed in our program. By the time they get to 4th grade (that's what I teach) the structure helps them stay on topic but experiment more advanced writing (figuative language, analogies, hooks & leads, etc.)
I have also taken a class called "The Read-Write Connection" by Marie Auman. She uses Power Writing along with other similar ideas. EXCELLENT CLASS AND MATERIALS! I can add an email address for anyone who may be interested, but I'll have to find it! I truly believe in Power Writing!
