Chrisie, I just read the cutest book to my kids called The King Who Rained by Fred Gwynne. It used the opposite homophone and drew a picture (example: The cover had a picture of a king lying sideways and rain dripping from him.) We all got a good laugh at these. Then we brainstormed as many homophone pairs as we could think of. The kids then wrote their own silly homophone books just like Fred Gwynne's book. My favorite was: My mom puts a little moose in her hair every morning. She drew a picture of a moose on her mom's head! By the way, does anyone know if Fred Gwynne was the actor who played Herman Munster??
