I use a simple system with 6th grade self-contained. They earn points for each class. 0-4
0-you are out of class, 2-pulled it together, 3-good, 4-excellent. I have a half sheet of paper with squares for each class. I verbally tell them how they are doing and when they are losing points. At the end of the day I habd out their sheets. They take their sheets home and parents must sign. They get to buy things with the points they have earned. They only get the points if their behavior sheets have been returned. Hoe that helps.
