Phonebook Ideas
By Sammi

Clip to ScrapBook
My kids really enjoy learning to use the phonebook. I, simply, scanned our local phonebook for popular restaurants, bowling alley, movie theater and etc. that the students would be interested in. I typed up a set of questions
for the students to work on at home with their parents. I asked the questions in several different ways. For instance, what number would I dial if wanted to order a Pizza Hut pizza? What is the number for Poison Control? On what page would I find the number for Bob Dylan? Also, using Microsoft Word, the students created Important Numbers/Frequently Dialed Numbers for their families.
They added fancy clip art, we laminated them, and we put magnetic strips on the back for them to hang on the refrigerator. The students loved this activity! I hope this helps!
