good for you! for wanting to know what parents are thinking, and good for you! for asking!

i do this--however, in a little different format.
right before conference time, i have the students fill out a (20+ questions)
pre-conference questionnaire with their parents. the survey covers a huge range of topics from does the teacher use a variety of visuals to does your teacher like teaching. (by the way, i teach 6th grade.) i insist that the students get beyond the yes or no answers and give why/not. the students or parents are supposed to bring this to the conference and we start from there. this
is a great way to find out about problems the kids are having that you're totally unaware of.

then at the end of the year, i send out a short survey that i ask parents to fill out. questions range from: how did i do communicating with you? to how did you feel about the amount of homework given?

send me your e-mail address, and i'd be glad to send copies your way, if you'd like.
