snowflakes
By Julianne

Clip to ScrapBook
As with the sugar crystal snowflakes, you can make salt crystal snowflakes. Take a white pipe cleaner (chenile stem) and cut it into thirds. Twist the pieces together to make six arms. Tie a string to one arm. Now dip into saltwater and then suspend one corner of the snowflake in the salt water. The water will continue to migrate up the fuzzy stem, depositing salt crystals as it goes. After a couple of days you'll have a lovely salt encrusted "snowflake".
