You have stated my problem exactly...I may draw a quick example or show them an example, but I take it away quickly. Of course, you always have those who will copy exactly but this cuts down on that and also allows those
who are visual to "get" it.
I simply hate having guided projects but in the primary grades some are unavoidable, that is why I start teaching drawing at 1st grade. But K...wow, a whole other story. The level differences are so huge. And parents have tended to complain when they are not consistantly receiving "projects" home. I am still teaching proper glue proceedures this year, never
has been this slow before...
I have 4 classes and majority still cannot "draw: their names!
Ugh
But I get to attend my state conference this year so maybe I will come home with a few new GOOD ideas
