Classroom management
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi again,
Amy, I have a few reservations regarding the management system described...Behavior problems should be handled as privately as possible. Names/flags shouldn't be posted for all to see. It also seems to be an
extrinsic system put on the children to control behaviors, not get to the heart of the problem which is usually treating others with respect and caring about the learning that's going on.
It does take alot of time and effort to develop and maintain a caring classroom learning community, thus the meetings each and every day but it's worth it when you see the collaboration and support
for one another, just like a family. If you want to read more on this, try something by Alfie Kohn. His insights and ideas are terrific. Best of luck all! ;-D
