"make your bed"
By Dedi

Clip to ScrapBook
You can also teach them to "make their bed." This my be hard to envision, but I'll try to explain--- make a thumbs up with both hands, and put your fists together so your thumbs are facing up in front of you. Your left
hand should resemble a lowercase B and the head of the bed. Your right is the foot of the bed (lowercase D), thus using the letters in the order that they appear in the word "bed." I also have a picture of this hanging on my wall, with the actual letters used to make the bed, which is adorned with pillows and a sleeping looking child. This has worked wonders for my students, and can even
be very discrete for children in upper elementary and above. If anyone in your school uses the Wilson reading program, you can probably get a copy of the picture from them, or just make your own. Good luck!
