Any reading strategy may be applied to a good book. The professional book, 'Strategies That Work' details strategies for reading to learn. If you're wanting learning to read strategies, you'd be doing shared/guided groups focusing on whatever specifics the child...Meaning (Does it make sense? Semantics), Structure (Does it sound right? Syntax) and Visual (Does it look right?) It's not as black and white as that, but it's an easy framework to use as a reference. If you are wanting specific information on strategies for either, please email or post again. ;-D
