I teach with the Memphis City Schools and the system used several different models to improve the quality of education. Recently the school board did a study and found that only 3 of the models improved test scores and Core Knowledge was one of those model.

I did teach Core Knowledge for two years and found the standards to be average. I did enjoy some aspects of the model but there are alway room for improvements based on the types of students in your class. I guess that is why I enjoyed teaching Core, it gave me a chance to get creative but have a specific curriculum to teach. The areas that were covered in some grade levels were questionable but both the teachers and the students enjoyed the curriculum.
