Thematic inquiry
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Julie,
Does your district/state have Science and Social Studies Standards for your GL? If not, you might do some searching for possibilities on the net...The National Council for the Social Studies has one of the best
Standards books around. You can get it, (inexpensively) on their web site. The NCSS also has several great publications to support these standards. The National Science Foundation also has a website and a standards book. If you had both of these, you'd have LOTS of possibilities to choose from both in process and product. One of the most important things to keep in mind as you're
gathering, is to decide upon your purpose before you embark on a thematic inquiry. There are lots of 'cute' activities and projects floating around but many don't really promote much in the way of long term learning. If you want the website info, or other professional book recommendations, please post again or email. Best of luck! ;-D
