Jack ideas
By Amber

Clip to ScrapBook
I made a giant beanstalk for the classroom, attached it to the ceiling and put a boot on either side on the ceiling so it looked like the giant climbing up. You can have the students illustrate parts of the story on leaves
to attach to various green ribbons hanging from the ceiling in that area as well.

Have the school secretary bring your class a 'giant letter'. The letter is from Jack asking the class to write letters to the Giant asking him to free Jack. You can then have an older class write back as if they are the giant.

Allow your students to grow their own beanstalks by planting beans in styrofoam

cups. If you're brave, they can even keep them on their desks to watch their growth.

You can also work on estimation skills using beans or even jelly beans to link in the Jack and the Beanstalk theme.

Hope this gives you a start. Good luck!
