spelling ideas
By Rebecca

Clip to ScrapBook
Here are some ideas that I've used....

Pictionary: write a sentence with words, draw and color picture for each.

Color Code: Make beginning sound, vowel sound and ending sound different colors.

Convert your spelling word to American sign language or braille.

Write your words forwards and backwards.

Substitute the vowel sound with a smiley face.

Number the alphabet from 1-26. Convert words to a number code.

Use letter tiles to "write" words.

Use cut-out letters to paste words together.

Let your partner "write" the words on your back with your finger and you say the words.

Make flip flap or ladder books.

Elaine has a wonderful spelling contract. You might see if you can find her post on the center board.
