I have heard of this before and you can have the students do a variety of things such as make crosswords and wordsearches and have a classmate solve them. Also scrambling the words is one that can be done too. Other things I have do is to have the students write a story including each of their spelling words in the story or have the students write a sentence using each of their spelling words. www.discovery.com go to discovery school and puzzlemaker will let you fill in the information to make all sorts of different things such as crosswords, double puzzles and word searches. It designs the things for you. My students love doing these activities and think it's a special treat. I hope this is of some help to you.
