Discipline plan

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Sue,
You might try this and see what your professors do. (I took various ideas from friends)..The first day of school the children's homework is to discuss and answer the following questions with their families:
What
expectations should I (your teacher) have of you?
What expectations should you have of me?
What expectations should you have of/to your classmates?
They are encouraged to take a few days to think and dialogue at home, then at week's end we start sharing all our ideas. After everyone's had a chance to give input, we categorize these and come up with a few 'big ideas'...this
year's expectations are as follows:
Be caring and supportive of everyone.
Be responsible with materials.
Be a responsible learner.
Have fun learning together.
I print these and attach a class photo, the kids sign around this signifying that they've had input and agree with what's been decided. This really sends a strong message that we are a community of learners and that expectations are meant to keep that focus. Hope this helps! ;-D
