cursive
By Rebecca

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach third grade and that's when our students begin cursive. I have already started. We took the first nine weeks to practice our manuscript and get ready for cursive. After that, we began learning the basic strokes (we teach Zaner Bloser). Then we begin with the lower case letters focusing on a particular stroke. I usually do two-three letters each lesson that use that stroke. Then we move on the next day to other letters. We practice the letters we've learned by writing them in words. Then we move on to the capital letters then eventually sentences. My students are required to write spelling words in cursive once we have learned the letters and we practice writing with poems and such. Hope this helps!
