Four Blocks
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Eileen,
We're using some of the Word Work portion of the program. From everything I've read, and perhaps someone has different information out there, it seems that your reading block is done in the following way:
three days on grade level material and two at a lower level. Personally, I don't thing that fits the theory of supporting every child as a reader at his/her own level. Have you looked into the Guided Reading, Word Work, Interactive Writing and Guiding Readers and Writers GL 3-6 professional books by Fountas and Pinnell? If you decided to use these, you could use your instructional materials
monies to set up a book room to include shared/guided reading books for all levels of readers. They do offer a staff development model, as well. It's worth looking into. ;-D Hope this helps.
