Beat the Teacher
By Betsy

Clip to ScrapBook
This is a game that I adapted from another teacher. It can be played with basically any Math concept. I'll explain best I can. First, you will need two students to stand up front. One student is the card holder and the
other is the player. The teacher is sitting beside player with a calculator. The card holder says "ready, set, go" and turns the card on "go" for teacher and player to see. The teacher enters the problem (such as 9x7) on the calculator and hits the enter key and says the answer once it is shown in the window. The key is that you can't say the answer until it's shown, and that gives
the player time to try for the answer. First person to get three problems correct wins. (They do not have to be in consecutive order.) Sometimes I win and sometimes they win. I usually give them a handful of skittles or m&m's if they beat me. And of course I get the handful of candy if I win. Have fun!!
