Ability Grouping
By Barbara

Clip to ScrapBook
I group my k/1 students according to their abilities. My groups are very flexible. They are always changing. Sometimes a lower level reader will sit in on a higher ability group and vice versa. My class is very laid back in our groups. Sometimes I have students that really insist they can be in a group that is above their ability. I will let them sit in on the group but they must also participate in their groups.
