I only know that it relates to cultural beliefs, and the parents don't want the student involved in the unit. I've suggested that the parent come in and preview the materials and see if by taking out, or changing somethings, "Can the student be involved in the topic?" Also looking at the parent suggesting an alternative activity with the approval of the school.
