Clip to ScrapBook
We do the same thing in my class as in Dewey's. In my fourth grade class I also keep an ongoing chart in my classroom of ALL the books we have read together. I call it "Books We've Shared" and under each title we underline with a specific color to indicate the author's purpose in writing it. Green for "to entertain," blue for "to persuade," and red for "to inform." This works well and has really taught the idea of author's purpose.
