Clip to ScrapBook
I read aloud at least one storybook per day that follows the theme of our basal unit, then we toss a beach ball to discuss title, author, plot, setting, characters, likes, dislikes, etc. I teach second grade. These books then go into the listening center for use. We also explore favorite authors by utilizing web sites for bio and bibliography...Our school also celebrates literacy week each spring...Guest readers, poets, story tellers and actors entertain our 1-3 graders. This year we are decorating the school Red,White,Read...favorite American authors...the kids get really pumped up and are part of the program.
