Clip to ScrapBook
She is a neat lady. I got a chance to meet her at a reading conference.
We read the story "Chicken Sunday" in our basal reader. After reading the story and discussing it. I give each student a hard boiled egg. They use crayons to make geometric designs on the egg. Then we dye them in Easter egg dye. I buy the dye kit on sale after Easter. I think you can use food coloring too. The kids are really excited to see the designs come out on the egg. Yellow especially shows up. A white crayon can be used, but the color is not as nice. They can eat the eggs at lunch time or take them home to show their parents.
