hi there! I have taught Haiku poetry to 3rd and 4th graders and the creativity only increases as the grades go up. The kids will really like Haiku poetry. It's generally about nature, but if it's around a holiday i.e. EASTER, they have fun with that.

5 syllables

By 5th grade, they should have pretty good dictionary skills. I've started my lessons out with dictionary skills and then a brief syllable lesson.
I have found that many of the students forget the pattern, so we repeat 5-7-5 over and over again like a chant. They really get into it!
As for the other topics, I'm a little lost, but I hope you find some!
