I would have done the same thing. From a legal stand point, if you feel an adult is abusing a child, it is your responsibility to report it. What if this principal seriously injured a child? I'm surprised that parent just pulled her child. I would have raised hell!!!
Don't worry about it. You should feel good knowing that you did the right thing.
