calls
By srw

Clip to ScrapBook
I too have no problems with the phone calls that I receive at home. BECAUSE they are calls that are justified. Not, simple "what's the homework" type of calls. I agree that can become annoying. However, I don't know that
cutting off all communication with parent's after you leave the school works either. My parents know and respect my time at home. They only call when there is a major concern. (Not all of them can call during the day due to work obligations and I can't have a true conversation with them sometimes at school due to time issues.)

Maybe you can set up a system next year that prevents

frivolious calls about homework but leaves the communication lines open for other concerns. If your school has a website, have the homework posted there. Or assign a student each week to be the one that people call with homework questions. Another way is to start assignment notebooks. I required my students to copy their homework assignments and have me inital them for the first semester of school. I stopped signing the second semester (giving them total independence) and didn't have a problem at all with them not getting it.

Hope that some of this helps.
