auction idea
By Kathy

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi! We had our school fundraising auction in the fall and I got a GREAT idea from someone on the boards right here! I teach middle school age kids and we modified the idea a bit. We made stepping stones for the garden.

I purchased round, gray stepping stones at Wal-Mart, painted them white with paint for concrete and let them dry for a couple of weeks. I also purchased stencils. The students painted on the stones with craft paint made for concrete or pottery. Some of the kids used the stencils while others who were more artistic free handed it! I let the stones dry for a couple of days
and then sprayed them to weatherproof them.
The parents went NUTS for them at the auction and thestepping stones fetched a lot of money!
The students in the 5th grade class stenciled mailboxes and these went over well also! Good Luck! E-mail me if you want to know what else did well at the auction!
