I don't teach K, but I would think that at this age, they should definitely know you will be gone, and they will probably be worried about their teacher. This doesn't mean you have to tell them anything specific, but it will put their little minds at ease to have a reason for it. Of course, I am very interested to hear the opinions of other K teachers, since noone knows this group better than them!
