Looping
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi all,
From everything we've done, looping or Multiage combination classes seem to outperform single year groups...possibly because you know your students so well and you gain learning time not having to reestablish everything
each year. I personally enjoy the multiage because you're getting some new members of your learning community each year. Yes, it's difficult when you're dealing with needy children (behavior/academic/motivation, etc.) but because you must establish a solid community of learners, I find teachers looking at children in a different way-more of the 'How can I help this child succeed?,
rather than, I can 'bear' this for a year!...Curriculum 'works' when you're looking at differentiating instruction for all so the differences in GL only really show up in your content areas, which we try hard to integrate. Best of luck, if you need anything email or post. There are lots of us who'd be happy to help support your new endeavor. ;-D
