I'm completing the second year of a 3/4 loop. Yes you can find research to support you either way. My own action research is not conclusive. I asked to loop and have found it generally positive. Yes, there are students who demand more time, but there will always be those students. I'm presently asking to move up to the fifth grade with this group. Overall the curriculum doesn't change. The focus remains around Reading, Writing, and Math.
