looping
By jules

Clip to ScrapBook
I am sooo jealous. I have been asking to loop with my class since September, and it wouldn't even invlolve another teacher, as we will have an opening in the grade level above next year. And to make it even more advantageous,
we will have an EXTRA teacher at the grade below me next year. So, I would move with my class to 5th, and the teacher who is worried about not having a job next year could move to 4th, take her class or not, doesn't really matter, and no new teacher would have to be hired. It sound so simple, yet I have not been told yes or no, and it is now February. I have even looped from 4th
to 5th in a previous district. Maybe my principal knows some disadvantageous you wish to know.
The only problem I have with looping is that if you have a poor class, it makes for a real long two years. Other than that, I think looping is one of the best ways to get an extra 4 weeks of learning out of our already shrinking class time.
