Book collecting

Hi Kyle,
What a great opportunity to begin your own classroom library! I agree with both the posters, and I'd also suggest that you take the time to check out the book reviews-if you go to Amazon or Borders websites,
you will find reviews by Children's Book Service, School Library Journal, etc. With the enormous amount of books being published, I don't buy any at this point that don't have favorable reviews. You could spend lots of money on books that lack quality writing, or age appeal, etc. Then when you have your own classroom, you'll have the children as judges, and if you've taught them to recognize
good writing, they'll tell you when a story has missed the mark. Also, you'll have the opportunity to obtain books from the book club orders at substantial savings or even free. Best of luck and have fun! ;-D
