Mentoring program

Hi Rebecca,
Our district recently adopted an official mentoring program called BEST. Each teacher new to the district is given a mentor. Mentors may have up to two mentees. As mentors, we attend 5 classes per year (3 hour sessions each night) on building relationships, facilitating learning and supporting our mentees. The mentees also attend classes. They are observed by one of the district teacher leaders as well throughout the year. We're obligated to meet together at least 10 hours per semester. We receive a small stipend for mentoring. Although we lament the time the classes take out of our already busy schedules, I always come away with something to use. If you want more information, please email. ;-D
