re; Glass Analysis

Hello PJM,
I have been utilizing the starter box and been creating activities with the vowel clusters as I go along. For example, my student and I are making a vowel quilt. I took about 5 different vowel clusters (an,
am, un, etc.) and gave him different words by putting them in sentences so he can obtain the semantics of the word, asking him what sound does the letters a and n make? What letters make up the "an" sound? Those are the questions I usually ask him. he is lazy and gets bored very easily, therefore, I try to change m y activities often without changing the goal/strategy of the lesson. I
think he is retaining the information, because when asked to reveal some words that have the "un" sound, he remembered the word "blunder", which was on the quilt. He does not do any reading at home, which I think delays any improvement in his reading abilities. Reading with me for 40 minutes daily is not sufficient. Yes, he does obtain special education support. He has resource room, reading with me, and core classes. Feel free to e mail me. I always like to talk to other teachers who are using the Glass Analysis method. Take care!
