A Blessing in Disguise?
By New Teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
I had the same problem as you and after striking out on finding the perfect job I attended a job fair for the urban schools in my area. I grew up in a rural area and really never saw myself teaching in an inner-city school.
But, I went just to see and I was hired within 15 minutes. It wasn't at all where I planned teaching and there is a 35 minute drive to deal with. BUT, I consider it all a blessing in disguise because this job has challeneged me to be more creative than I ever thought posbbile. I work with a great principal and really get along with my co-workers. I am getting my Master's degree
completely paid for through a district wide grant program, too. So, the perfect job turned out to be right under my nose and the one I initially thought was a "last resort" Good luck to you and stay flexible!
