Decorate envelopes and put in play money(or chocolate coins)...This is a Chinese custom for married couples to give to children and unmarried adults. The color red is very important to them. We dress in red on that day. We learn Chinese Writing, eat with chopsticks, and do origami. We have a "Festival of Lanterns"...We make paper lanterns to hang for our party. We make a dragon to use in a parade around the room. We find out what sign we were born under. I have a lot of neat books to share. Hope this helps. Just a last note...I let my students know that this is what "they" believe not what I believe(they think that red wards off evil spirits--not something I agree with but I'm open to teaching children about other's way of life).
