Yes - I 100% agree with sending cards and going (if you are able) to the funeral home. When I was in elelmentary school, I lost my parents to a drunk driver. I can name you ALL of the staff (and many of the students) that attended my parents funeral. It is something that I will never forget. While my life was in an upheavil at that point, it was the biggest relief to have seen people that were important in my life at my parents funeral. It is something that the student will never forget. I know I haven't.
