Tattles
By L.P.

Clip to ScrapBook
I worked with a veteran kindergarten teacher who was a master at redirection. She dealt with serious issues but had a novel approach to tattling. When a child came up to her with a tattle, she would get this concerned look
on her face, then peek over the child's shoulder and say: "Child's name, is that a tattle tail growing out your back? I thought I saw one. Look, there it is again." Most children would try to turn themselves inside out trying to spot it behind them. It was so funny. She also told the tattler that she would "watch" the other child. It worked for her because she was consistent.
My
K's are bad at tattling too. One pair tattles on eachother constantly. They will tattle even when I've been watching them and seen neither of them do anything wrong! Most of the time, I think they just want me to listen to them and feel important for the moment.
