pencil grip
By Julianne

Clip to ScrapBook
One thought - pencil grip can be very difficult to change. I've tried with my own son and with many students over the years. I finally decided that I didn't really care what way they held their pencil. I show them the proper grip and have them practice it a bit, then tell them they can hold their pencil whatever way is comfortable AS LONG AS they can form the letters properly. What we really want to promote is legible handwriting so how they hold the pen isn't as important as whether we can read the results.
