Lesson plans

While we need to have objectives written on the board daily, we are only required to submit lesson plans prior to an official observation. This is four times a year for a beginning teacher and twice a year for a tenured teacher. Even then, the format we use is a sequence chain with only six elements: the theme/content area addressed, the indicator or goal, the summative assessment, the formative assessment and strategies used to help children meet that goal. That's it!
