My middle school son had to present a report on how math is involved in every career. I can ask for the interview form he used. Actually, I went to his school and presented my interview personally, which was fun. I was also surprised at his comments about most kids asking their fathers or a male figure to complete these...I thought we were making headway in the gender mathematics issue. You might have your kids find someone to interview as he did, then present these in class. ;-D
