Shut down!
By Teacher who has been there

Clip to ScrapBook
Wow! Your administration is great to have allowed that and been supportive to you. I too have had the problems you listed. I applaud you for sticking to it. To the person who posted and said that they couldn't support
it: have you been in a class where you are sworn at and threatened on a daily basis? where parents are on crack and no help at all? Shut-down teacher saved the well-behaved students from a year of torture by setting a firm limit and ending behavior that is probably accepted in the misbehaved students dysfunctional homes. Right on shut-down teacher! It is time that we teachers support
this type of approach. We have so little support and parents are often worse than the kids. Children are not our equals. We do a disservice to them when we allow them to believe they are.
