I think it would be a great idea for you to take a few elementary methods classes, you'll get lots of good current researched information as well as some hands on experience. I was wondering why you'd think elementary ed was any less strenuous than high school? It hasn't gotten any easier for me and I've been teaching for 22+ years. OK you don't have the same number of students, but you multiply each child by 7 subject areas. Best of luck whatever you decide.
